The story the name tells

This service fixed its first machines on the Lake Whatcom shore — cabin refrigerators scrambled by the lake's flickering power, laundry rooms kept damp under the tree canopy, ovens feeding summer households twice their winter size. Shore work teaches a repair trade two things fast: measure before you conclude, because damp and flicker imitate every expensive fault there is — and put your promises on paper, because absent owners can't shake hands. Both lessons became the whole method.

When the shop settled into a permanent address, it picked Depot Rd in Lynden — the crossing point of the county's working roads, minutes from the farm towns, twenty from the city, twenty from the border, and a scheduled leg from the shore that named it. The lake stayed on the sign as a promise: no stop on this map is too far to matter.
